Rise NYC are currently recording a new E.P. with legendary dance producer, Freddy
Bastone. They've already recorded a great cover of "Eye in the Sky"
by the Alan Parsons Project as well as an original track entitled "Break
it!". Rise NYC are taking on a new direction geared at moving the dancefloor.
- Rise NYC's music video "No Harm" placed #25 on the Music Nation
charts in 2007.
- Rise NYC are re-releasing Mise en Scène on their own indie label, Cherry
Beat Records
(www.cherrybeatrecords.com)
early this winter. They will be selling it online as well as pressing 1000 limited
cds.
- Rise NYC appear in Flaunt Magazine issue #83 for performing at Patricia Field's
birthday party held at Cielo Nightclub (NYC). They were wearing custom-made
outfits by up-and-coming designer, Marco Hall, who also made Rhianna's recent
shiny blue jumpsuit.
- Rise NYC are currently pitching a few New York art galleries for a multi-media
musical installation that they have prepared, dealing with the struggles + triumphs
found within everyday life of the Big Apple. It will include acting, films,
performance art by Rise NYC as well as sets designed by Soigne Deluxe.
- Rise NYC will be performing with a totally new set and show starting in November
2007. They are currently working on it.
- Rise NYC had a third member for a while playing drums + doing back-ups, Elaine
Benavides. Elaine has left to pursue a few great music projects, one of which
is Binary Starr System (also including Die J! Mars on turntables/guitars). You
can check them out at www.myspace.com/binarystarrsystem.
- Rise NYC had a Swedish dance troupe (Lina, Hedvig and Sarah) which was choreographed
by Erik Arnell. All dance members are currently at other parts of the globe
but through video + the internet, Erik is still Rise NYC's choreographer and
has been working on new numbers for the next e.p. in which the dancers will
be projected behind Rise NYC for live shows, dancing virtually to their new
set.
